Derry River Crossing
Cinematic Sky documented this multi-million pound project on behalf of Kier, Phoenix Gas and McCormack Drilling as they connected a natural gas main in Derry City by drilling over 600m underneath the River Foyle.
Our brief was to document the project using a mixture of epic aerials and on-the-ground cinematography to create a 2-3 minute video that the respective companies could use to showcase this work and to pitch for future jobs. We also captured a selection of aerial photographs and completed a timelapse at key points during the project,
We visited the two sites (either side of the river) on multiple locations during the 3 months from project start to completion, including a night shoot at a critical juncture when the pipe was being fitted. We also included an animation in the video to detail the precise work that is happening underground where cameras cannot go. All 3 partners were delighted with the video.
