Cinematic Sky were hired by construction, gas and Drilling Behemoths Kier, UK Power Networks and McCormack Drilling to capture and produce a promotional video of their major infrastructure works in Little Barford, England as they upgraded the existing electrical and gas grids.
As complex goes, the Little Barford to Eaton Socon project had it all; an important river, a golf course, flood plains, two national trunk roads, and a large industrial estate to cross. It was even once labelled as a project that ‘could not be built’. This is why it was so important for these companies to have a video that showcased how they overcame these challenges that they can then use when bidding on similar and bigger projects in the future.
In order to create the dynamic, eye-catching video you see below we combined our aerial filming expertise with on-the-ground videography, animated text and a 3D animation of the site. Produced in-house by our creative team.
Our 3D animator (who was nominated for a Bafta in 2019 for his animation work) allows us to document what is happening underneath the ground while our drone and other cameras document what is happening above it. Our 3D animations have proven to be extremely popular with large-scale construction projects and utility companies across the UK.
Using our state-of-the-art drone we also captured some epic and eye-catching aerial photographs of the site and works. These were used by the 3 partners to keep up to date on the project and were later used for promotional and marketing material on their websites and social media channels. McCormack Drilling - a Northern Ireland company who have established themselves as industry leaders in HDD drilling - were so happy with the drone image that they requested we make a calendar featuring 12 of the best images of the project which they gave out to clients.

We are certified by the Civil Aviation Authority to carry out commercial aerial work in the UK. We fly a Phantom 4 Pro UAV to provide the highest quality 4k footage. Our on-the-ground video was filmed by the Panasonic GH5.
We are (CSR) registered and cleared to be on active construction sites in the UK, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. We have completed the industry approved CSR health and safety training course and assessment.
